DIRECTIONS/ACCESSING POST

Directions from the Logistics Gate to American Lake Community Center

Exit I-5 at exit 123 – Fort Lewis Logistics Gate (CLOSED ON SATURDAYS)

  • Make a Right turn leaving the checkpoint parking lot area; Proceed to stop sign.
  • Turn left at stop sign, on Rainier Drive; Proceed for 1/10 of a mile.
  • Turn Right on South F Street (at the blue Hospital); Proceed for 4/10 of a mile.
  • Turn Left at next stop light (Jackson Avenue); Proceed for 2.5 miles (go thru 5 stoplights) Note that Jackson Avenue becomes Pendleton Avenue.
  • Take a right at the light (41st Division Road).
  • Come through two security gates, and turn right at the light (San Francisco Road).
  • Take the next right (NCO Beach Road) and follow.
  • Follow American Lake Community Center sign

Directions from the Main Gate to American Lake Community Center.

  • Exit I-5 at exit 120 – Fort Lewis/No Fort Lewis. Take the ‘N Fort Lewis’ choice
  • After leaving the checkpoint area, take the first right (San Francisco Road).
  • Take the next right (NCO Beach Road).
  • Follow American Lake Community Center sign.

Any member of this group that has a Rapid Gate credential may access the
installation through any gate. Those that have the credential should be well
aware of the program requirements and permissions.

All others will have to process through the Logistics Center Commercial Gate
if they are operating a commercial vehicle. We define commercial vehicles as
“minivan sized or larger, configured to carry cargo, and used in conduct of
commercial activities”. Example’s would be box trucks and vehicles towing
cargo trailers. They must have vehicle registration, valid driver’s license,
proof of insurance, state a valid reason for entering the installation, and
give their destination. In this case they should tell security officers that
they are here for the Lodestar Group Trade Show at the American Lake Community
Center on North Fort.  They should allow about
30 minutes to process through the CVIP.

All vendors coming on board the installation in passenger vehicles as opposed
to commercial vehicles may process at the Visitor Center and can be issued a
multi-day pass for the duration of the event (10-12 May)
